Actively against Spam
MrWebGuide.com works actively against spam to protect our customers from unwanted emails and to catch spammers. We work together with internet organizations and authorities against spam. I have by legal means successfully involved myself in shutting down several domains of spammers.

What is Spam?
Spam is unsolicited email also known as junk mail or UCE (Unsolicited Commercial Email.) By sending email only to those who have requested to receive it, you are following accepted permission-based email guidelines.
Our definition of SPAM is: sending emails to more than 5 email addresses outside of your domain name with out previously obtained and documented permission from the owners/users of those email addresses.

Opt-in email marketing
MrWebGuide.com accepts opt-in or permission-based email-marketing that follows the strictest permission-based philosophies:

Communication - Your site must state that and why you are collecting the site visitor's email address if you do, and how you plan to use their address. It is recommended that your site has a privacy policy which clearly states that you do not sell, lease, rent, borrow, give away or otherwise provide any third party your list(s) of email addresses.

Verification - You must send all of your new subscribers an email requesting a confirmation of their interest in receiving emails from you. Additionally, if your subscriber does not confirm interest in receiving mails from you, changes his or her interests or unsubscribes, then their wish must be honored.

Unsubscription - Every email sent by you to more than 5 email addresses outside of your domain name hosted at MrWebGuide.com must contain a valid unsubscribe link or email address to remove subscribers from your lists in order to avoid the chance of continually sending unwanted emails to visitors who want to unsubscribe.

Contact Information - all of your emails to more than 5 email addresses outside of your domain name hosted at MrWebGuide.com must include your contact information.

Isn't there a law restricting Spam?
Yes and no. In some countries there is. Some countries give big fines for breaking the law. Example: Denmark. By implementing our own anti-spam policy we at MrWebGuide.com do our part to rid the world of spam.

How to protect yourself from sending Spam:
Are you a SPAMMER? Take the Spam Test

  1. Are you importing a purchased list of ANY kind?
  2. Are you sending to non-specific addresses such as:
  3. Are you sending to distribution lists or mailing lists which send indirectly to a variety of email addresses? (Many FFA pages do this.)
  4. Are you mailing to anyone who has not explicitly agreed to join your mailing list?
  5. Have you falsified your originating address or transmission path information?
  6. Have you used a third party email address or domain name without their permission?
  7. Does your email's subject line contain false or misleading or no information?
  8. Does your email fail to provide a working link or email address to unsubscribe?

If you have answered YES to ANY of the above questions you will likely be labeled a SPAMMER. For more information visit The Coalition Against Unsolicited Email (www.cauce.org) or contact MrWebGuide.com Customer Support.
